Area of Interest: Rohe of Te Uri o Hau

The Te Uri o Hau area of interest covers land and coastal shoreline generally located in the Northern Kaipara region. It embraces a locale North of Wellsford in the South, to Te Arai Point taking in the Mangawhai Heads in the East, to Pikawahine in the North, across to Mahuta on the West Coast and down, including Pouto.

The tribe is blessed with an abundance of natural resources, each with a heritage and cultural value only truly appreciated by the tangata whenua of this land.

The Trust receives many proposals from tribal members about use of the resource within the area of interest and each is granted careful consideration according to its merits by both Trustees and people with the necessary skill and expertise.

We encourage Te Uri o Hau whanau to contact us first if you have any questions about activities taking place within our rohe.
