Originally called Te Uri o Hau Social Services, the Trust's social and cultural services arm was renamed Tangata Development in April 2006. Tangata Development Limited is a limited liability company incorporated on 7 March 2003. The shares in the company are vested in the directors of the Te Uri o Hau Settlement Trust.
Tangata Development has four directors appointed by the Te Uri o Hau Settlement Trust, and currently comprises the following board members. The directors must have appropriate qualifications, and include one trustee of the Settlement Trust.
The Board's accountability includes six monthly and annual reporting on financial and non-financial performance.
