Henry Holyoake

Kia Ora Koutou Katoa

I put my name forward as a Trustee so I could be the voice for the beneficiaries of my ancestral marae Waikaretu and also work collaboratively with our people to enhance our hapu, Te Uri o Hau.

I have been in governance roles for the past 10 years, both commercial and community including other Maori trusts, education and sporting boards and have a clear distinction between management and governance.

While running a building company I also tutor for Northtec in carpentry and my passion lies with recognising the knowledge, resources and opportunities that can be created for shareholders and beneficiaries within our hapu.

For me, it is vitally important that both trustees and operation staff receive relevant training to enable their role. Operations staff should ideally be beneficiaries who can be trained and up skilled on the job. The trustees and management staff must have the skills and transparency to ensure we have a clear direction and that we are fully accountable to our beneficiaries.

I can promise you I will always act with passion and integrity and will not compromise this for self-gain.

Nga mihi, Henry Holyoake
