Hoatu te mana ki a ratou kua tae mai nei ki tenei whenua, kua wheturangitia i te korowai o Ranginui, kua hangaia i tenei tikanga hoki. Tena koutou, tena koutou, tena koutou katoa.
Ko Mihi Kapa-Watene toku ingoa, No Pouto ahau, Ko Waikaretu te marae, Ko Te Uri o Hau te hapu, Ko Ngati Whatua toku iwi.
I was appointed as a Trustee of the Settlement Trust in 2007. In 2009 I was appointed as the Interim Chair and this year (2010) I was appointed Chairperson. Prior to becoming a Trustee I was a director on the Environs Holdings board.
As Chairperson for the Trust I not only represent Waikaretu but all 14 marae of Te Uri O Hau.
I have been raised with the old values of our elders and at the grass roots level of which I remain today. My drive and passion is to move the Trust forward into the future with integrity, honesty, love, respect and whakawhanaungatanga.
