Mikaera Miru

I am of Ngai Tahuhu, Ngati Rangi, Ngati Kura, Te Uri o Hau, English, German and French descent.

I have spent the last twenty years working at my ancestral roots ie, my whanau Marae ( Waiaotea Marae ) at Tinopai. I grew up in Wellsford where I attended Rodney College. I am married to a West Auckland wahine (Ann Burt) and have four grown up tamariki. I have traveled around Europe, South East Asia, Africa and Australia and gained a wealth of personal experiences. I am currently employed by the Te Uri o Hau Settlement Trust as the Kaiarahi of the Cultural Heritage Trail Project. I am a trustee of a Ahu Whenua Trust for our Tupuna whenua at Tinopai. I am the secretary for Waiaotea Marae Trustees/Committee. I am also Waiaotea Marae representative on Te Uri o Hau Taumata Kaunihera
