Paul Paikea
Tena Koutou Katoa. I am a grandson to Haupapa (Snowy) and Rita Paikea, and the eldest son to Bruce and Tuti Paikea. Nga mihi nui ki a koutou.
Professionally, my experience is in the field of agriculture and forestry in particular I have over 27 years as a shearing contractor and over 20 years as a forestry contractor.
In respect of my contribution to my marae and community I have been the chairperson of the Otamatea Fundraising Committee and Otamatea Marae. I am currently on the Economic Development Committee for the marae which I joined in 2007.
Whilst being on the trust board my objectives are to improve the Trust's internal and external relationships, build on our revenue and asset base and reduce our operating costs and reliance on consultants and lawyers.
I believe by being honest with ourselves and respectful to each other Te Uri o Hau will move forward with mana and pride.
